climate change project is raising funds to sculpt trumps face into arctic iceberg

a finnish climate group is attempting to raise half a million dollars in order to carve president donald trump’s face into a glacier. the group hopes the 115-foot tall ice sculpture and its consequential melting will demonstrate that climate change is happening.

finland-based group melting ice estimates that to complete the glacial art project dubbed ‘project trumpmore‘, they will need to raise half a million dollars. at present they are still searching for the exact location but say it will be carved on the melting arctic glacier ‘where the effect of global warming is said to be its most concrete‘.

the project responds to trump’s frequent skepticism about climate change. as well as labelling it a hoax trump has often tweeted his disbelief. in februrary 2014 he tweeted, ‘massive record-setting snowstorm and freezing temperatures in U.S. Smart that GLOBAL WARMING hoaxsters changed name to CLIMATE CHANGE!

global warming is one of the most important issues and topics of today‘, nicolas prieto, chairman of melting ice, said in a press release. there are still people who ponder whether it’s a real issue. we want to build the monument for all of us, so we can see how long the sculpture lasts before melting. often people only believe something when they see it with their own eyes.’

  • No-no-no…. Do not stroke his ego any more. Soon supporters will post his image in their latte, as stains on the wall and, perhaps appropriately, dog droppings. Please do not feed the Ego.

    JimCan says:
  • Ridiculous. ‘Project Trumpmore. Will it melt or will it last a thousand years?’
It’s an iceberg idiots. It melts as it drifts south with the currents. Titanic anyone?

    W says:
  • This sounds like a great project. Have you done a short video and gone on Kickstarter to raise the financing.

    All the best,

  • Terrific idea, I hope it floats. The only thing that’s missing is a twist of lemon.

    Howard Sherman says:
  • Carving Trumps face into a glacier won’t change a thing. Get real Finland folks. Think about all the resources and fossil fuels you will expend trying to raise half a mil, and transportation to this glacier. Stay at home and instead design products that will help reduce power consumption. And campaign against consumer culture and help educate developing countries about environmental protection. And Design Boom get real too. This has nothing to do with design. Too many political campaigns going on your platform. Lets keep it about design.

    Jesse says:
  • Delusional liberals, when will they learn.
Global warming is a very well elaborated hoax. Do deep research and talk with real scientists… what is happening is part of earths cycle, just like the magnetic poles flippening, or maybe it’s also trump and some gigant magnets… ridiculous.

    Joseph Telling says:
  • I agree with Jesse. My own take on this, ask funding from Shell. It is owned by who else? The royal family of Holland!

    Tung Cab says:
  • Yes, put a Trump but not Donald. Put the face of his grandson instead, that will mean something.
