about one month ago, wright auction house in chicago invited designer martino gamper to take part in a special project and auction. ‘receiving’ involved a series of furnishings made by gamper using cast-off shipping materials, crates, and discarded furniture and objects found in wright’s warehouse. gamper and an assistant built all the pieces on-site where visitors were welcome at all times. once complete, the pieces were put on display and made available to buyers. the cut and paste aesthetic of gamper’s work matched perfectly with the discarded scraps in the creation of the one of a kind pieces.photography by wright and brian franczyk http://www.gampermartino.com http://www.wright20.com
