deeply’s WETSUITs comprise natural MINERALS FROM THE SEA

Allowing surfers to become at one with the sea and look stylish while on the go, Tiago Lemos has created a sustainable new line of wetsuits made from natural minerals for surfing brand Deeply. The Limitless range substitutes petrochemicals for a natural formula, making use of Mineralprene — a mixture of limestone minerals and discarded oyster shells. The composition together yields a more natural and comfortable foam rubber finish for a more flexible surf while also reducing environment impact and protecting surfers from sun rays.

In order to preserve the wetsuit’s durability given its increased flexibility, the brand has further introduced memory foam technology to help maintain its integrity. The integration of their graphene technology also offers additional insulation to retain heat for longer, even during colder surf sessions.

From hard rocks to soft neoprene: a flexible surfing experience

Made from Mineralprene, Deeply’s newest and most sustainable neoprene formula, the wetsuits are composed of a combination of limestone rocks and oyster shells which are recycled and converted into oxide powder. Engineered to flow comfortably, the suits are shaped with a key focus on flexibility and a lightweight feel to provide the surfer with limitless movement with a zero-gravity feel.

The seams are stitched and sealed with a water glue to reinforce the lining, while the use of flexible bands further ensures the seam’s malleability, ensuring a comfortable surfing experience. ‘Over the years, we have been working and trying a lot of different solutions to get the best balance between comfort, flexibility, and sustainability. We changed a lot the wetsuit cuts in order to follow more the movements of the surfer,’ says Tiago Lemos, Creative Director of surf-wear brand.
