IT’s light academy by reggiani: a master class in project design + light management

leading italian lighting manufacturer reggiani spa illuminazione offers a master class in project design and light management. the first edition of ‘IT’s light academy‘ is scheduled to run from april 8th to october 16th, 2015; and will offer participants over the course of eight scheduled events, advanced training in a range of topics —  from project management to lighting development; and its technical and design applications in various contexts, including: hotel and catering, museums and churches, offices and the tertiary sector, residential, retail and the outdoors. the program will be delivered through theory lessons, historic case study analysis, practical exercises and the development of a lighting project, of which two participants of the master class will be selected based on their performance and offered a six month international placement with the reggiani group at one of their headquarters in china, italy, the united kingdom or the united states.

the ‘IT’s light academy’ is offered in partnership with key players in the field of ‘lighting culture: two leading firms in LED sources and control systesm, SHARP and HELVAR, with training carried out by paolo de lucchi; with further contributions by roberto martello (corporate development officer) and massimo parravicini (technical and purchasing director) of reggiani spa. it is held in collaboration with the cultural hub, designlibrary — the programme’s main venue — in milan.

the initiative is held in conjunction with reggiani’s sponsorship of ‘the challenge’, an international competition set to conclude in october at PLDC 2015 in rome, in which students of specialized universities in denmark, germany, lithuania, mexico, norway, spain, sweden, the united kingdom and the united states will put their ideas up against one another, to prove themselves as the world’s finest emerging lighting designers.
