laurens van den acker, vice president of renault corporate design

senior vice president, corporate design renault laurens van den acker, born on september 5, 1965, obtained a diploma in industrial design at the university of technology in delft in the netherlands. he began his career in 1990 as a designer at design system URL in turin, italy. he joined audi in 1993 as exterior designer in ingolstadt (germany). in 1996, he became senior designer at SHR perceptual management in newbury park (usa). in 1998, he became chief designer of the brand imaging group for ford motor company in irvine (california). in 2003, he was appointed chief designer of the ford escape platform at design centre in dearbon (usa) and in 2005, he became chief designer strategic design. he went on in 2006 to head the design division of mazda motor corporation in hiroshima, japan. he joined the renault group on may 2009, 15, and he is appointed senior vice president, corporate design on september 2009. he built the new design strategy for renault and launched 3 concept-cars with the new formal language and new front identity: DEZIR, CAPTUR and R-SPACE.
