at dawn on a cool autumn morning, the first signs of winter pressed a group of five friends onward as they silently scaled the precipitous slows of mount borgà. ‘the early morning light inched its way along the rooftops. the frost glistened like icing sugar on the cobbles of the steep and winding streets. the men used carbide lamps to light the way ahead…’ motivated by the life and words of italian writer, sculptor, and alpinist mauro corona, alessandro zambelli created ‘reverb’, a collection of carbide lantern influenced desk lamps for zava

‘reverb’ radiates light outwards, bathing its surroundings in warm, luminosity. the lamps are composed of a concave diffuser with circular screen atop a cylindrical base. all-metal, they are available in a range of finishes: carmine red, pastel turquoise, and grey beige, with LED lighting technology. the line was the fruition of collaboration between zambelli and metal-lighting specialist zava. ‘reverb’ will be presented at euroluce during milan design week 2015
