if you’re a pet owner, you probably know the struggle of sharing chairs, sofas and even beds with your furry other half. well, that’s where this playful installation by artist paul kweton of studio PAULBAUT comes in. called the ‘rocking-2-gether chair 3.0’, the piece is a hybrid between kweton’s previous rocking-2-gether chair 2.1 and a modified eames molded plastic chair, functioning as a rocking chair for both humans and pets.

the top half of the chair is composed of a solid milled aluminum hardware seat and a shell made out of polypropylene plastic. the lower ribbed structure is crafted from birch plywood with satin clearcoat finish. the density of the CNC milled ‘ribs’ can be controlled with differently sized aluminum spacers. the current configuration gives cats or small dogs a cozy place to sleep while providing transparency through the chair ribs. unfortunately, the piece is a one-off artistic work by studio PAULBAUT and not available for sale.
