as part of salone del mobile di milano| eurocucina 2018, the japanese sanwacompany is presenting ‘the impact of compact’ concept, a collection of ‘compact’ kitchens, expressing the best cutting-edge japanese technology. the new collection stands out for combining sophisticated contemporary and minimalist design, typical of the japanese tradition, with a design research that has involved important names of italian design, including alessandro mendini, elisa ossino, bestetti associati.

the chosen solutions highlight the important research process implemented by sanwacompany to combine a unique style with the recent furnishing trends of contemporary living modules. thanks to the inclusion of these elements, residential and hospitality areas are transformed and accessible in unexpected ways.

the formal essentiality is born from the desire to furnish reduced home spaces with style, proposing a functional yet limited in volumes kitchen project. sanwa company, thanks to its experience gained in the study and development of new solutions that combine contemporary design and high technology, introduces at eurocucina 2018 a line of extremely compact kitchens, capable to create wonder even in a small living space.

BA 01 by bestetti associati is a compact, on-wheels volume that can be easily moved from indoor to outdoor spaces

three projects are destined to make the news: AM 01 designed by alessandro mendini, EO 01 by elisa ossino and BA 01 by bestetti associati. ‘pattina’ and ‘grad 45’ will also be at eurocucina in a ‘compact’ version. finally, two interesting new projects: AC 01 — adjustable compact kitchen that turns into a desk and SC-01, where steel is the protagonist. the AC 01 project — winner of the sanwa company design competition — was selected by mendini, the president of the jury — to be produced.

BA 01 is a dynamic and flexible kitchen that is not relegated to a single space

the design research, therefore, continues in the sign of formal minimalism — the distinctive element that characterized sanwacompany since its first debut at eurocucina in 2016, with the ‘modern in style, japanese in spirit’ claim, proposed also at milan design week 2017 in a ‘japanese modern vintage’ collection. 

BA 01 is made of paperstone, a completely natural material that comes from 100% recycled paper

the sanwacompany setup for eurocucina 2018, realized in collaboration with bestetti associati, aligns with the company’s vision in recent years. also on this occasion, the brand collaborates with lighting company davide groppi. the styling of the booth is curated by elisa ossino together with nakagawa masashichi shoten co., ltd., dyk / takagi co., ltd., and hotta carpet co., ltd.
