german based duo, sascha urban + dorothea wirwall have designed ‘loungebarrow’, a wheelbarrow that easily transforms into a usable chair.

a plywood cover removes in three parts – an upholstered headrest that attaches to the top of the chair, a padded seat and a laptop desk – to expose a cushioned backrest that lines the interior of the ubiquitous garden tool. the upright position is obtained by resting the wheelbarrow on its front handles, providing users with a relaxed posture.

‘loungebarrow’ was most recently on show as part of [D3] competition for young designers at imm cologne 2011.
