‘t-table’ crafted from blond swedish pine dyed with carbon black japanese ink

save our souls(johannes carlström & magdalena nilsson) has designed a collection of furniture which cannot easily be placed in time. the aesthetics of the series have a nostalgic touch based on traditional time consuming techniques that have been applied to cheap, mass-produced materials. together, when viewed at the proper angle, the pieces spell the word ‘temps’ which means ‘time’ in french. the temps perdu collection is currently on show at the eskilstuna art museum, sweden until november 22nd, 2009 as part of the ‘remembrance of things past’ exhibition.

‘e-stool’ a small stool or set of stairs which are hand-dyed with various pigments and finished with oil and wax

‘p-lamp’ a floor lamp with brass base and a hand-pleated paper shade behind a sandblasted glass

‘s-chair’ made from tubular steel with seat and backrest in dyed pine with armrests are wrapped with leather
