for the SCHOTT CERAN® DESIGN AWARDS 2017 competition, hundreds of applicants from across the world submitted to designboom their ideas on how to bring glass-ceramic to the future. using the acronym FUSICS, the german-based world market leader in glass-ceramic cooktop panels asked people to take into consideration function, urbanism, sustainability, illumination, connectivity and social experience.

additionally, SCHOTT has decided to give the 30 finalists the chance for an additional award – the people’s choice award, which will be voted from the visitors during the london design fair. the winner of the people’s choice award will be announced on their facebook channel on sunday, 24th september after 4pm.
