secolo XXI reveals its first collection of velvet chairs at milan design week 2018

the first collection from secolo XXI is both surprising and eccentric yet easy to place in a variety of different interiors. aiming to provide something that is not just new and exciting but will remain elegant for years to come, this concept of everlasting relevance gave birth to ‘giardino botanico’ series comprising five velvet chairs.

‘nature is something that has always been around us, it was not man-made nor was it bought, it has not been imposed upon us,’ the secolo XXI team explains the concept. ‘it just exists around us, there to be accepted and admired, hopefully forever.’ responsible for the artistic direction of the brand is a london-based artistic trio artefatto design studio. 

‘giardino botanico’ should feel like it has always been here, almost naturally occurring and everlasting. you will find daisy, lily, ivy, jasmine and holly, the members of the family ‘giardino botanico’, at the milan design week 2108 in april at the aesthetic visions exhibition curated by manfredi style and designed by studio milo (via palermo, 5) and at galleria rossana orlandi (via matteo bandello 14/16).
