a landscape runway for Hermès emerges at dusk

For its women’s wear Fall/Winter 2026 presentation at Paris Fashion Week, Hermès stages a scenographic landscape where fashion unfolds along a winding path between light and shadow. The runway appears as a sculpted ribbon cutting through a dimly lit terrain of moss, low vegetation, and earthy textures. At the far end, a glowing circular portal frames the horizon like an abstract moon, anchoring the show within a dreamlike twilight setting.

The path curves and loops through the space, allowing models to move through the audience. The design transforms the show into a landscape experience, where the act of walking becomes a journey through an atmospheric environment. The serpentine platform hovers slightly above planted ground, weaving through a miniature landscape that suggests the edge of a city where nature quietly reclaims space.

The circular opening at the horizon operates as both backdrop and symbolic threshold. Models appear through this luminous frame before entering the winding route, creating a cinematic procession that echoes the collection’s narrative of forward motion and renewed perception.

curves, light and motion shape the scenography of the show

The scenography builds on the collection’s exploration of chiaroscuro. Light acts almost as a material, with garments revealing themselves gradually as models pass through shifting illumination. Warm tones evoke the final rays of sunset, while cooler blue light suggests a moonlit night, subtly changing the perception of textures, colors, and silhouettes.

This lighting strategy heightens the sculptural qualities of the clothing. Structured suits, energetic jodhpurs, and gentle A-line silhouettes emerge from darkness before dissolving back into shadow, reinforcing the theme of movement and transformation of the French fashion house’s collection.

The Hermès show turns the runway into an immersive environment, where curved geometries slow the pace of the show and multiply viewing angles, allowing garments to be experienced dynamically as models navigate the terrain. In this twilight world of glowing paths and shadowed ground, Hermès presents fashion as a sensory journey, where architecture, nature, and movement combine to reshape the choreography of the runway.
