the swiss design studio ZMIK was commissioned to redesign the design boutique sevensisters in basel. their redesign took advantage of the shop’s small size by using a single piece of display furniture. the 9m long table/shelf has 10 separate volumes balanced on shared sets of legs. the shop’s collection of design gifts are displayed on the various levels of the unit. the top of each unit can also be opened to make room for different arrangements. the array of yellow tape at the entrance is intended to attract visitors’ attention. the shop re-opened on september 10th.
