neri&hu’s ‘shaker’ and ‘frame’ collections are being displayed at maison&objet 2015 in paris from january 23rd-27th, within a specially designed compact home environment. timber is abundantly employed for the flooring, walls and framework of a ‘domestic cage’. the openness of the installation allows for a voyeuristic interior experience which blurs the lines between private and public areas of the home. the presentation is meant to bring about questions about what it means to be free, provoking the idea of one’s abode standing as a refuge and retreat, while at the same time acting as a cage for our possessions and living rituals.
