‘antoinette’ by shin azumi for tefal
london-based japanese designer shin azumi has developed ‘antoinette’, an electric kettle for french kitchenware manufacturer tefal. meant for the far eastern market, the appliance focuses equally both on form as well as the functional and safety requirements associated with its use. to prevent burns, the body consists of a double layer, with an interior stainless steel tank. the steam only escapes from the curved spout, while the rest of the kettle remains cool. to ensure that spills don’t happen while pouring, the detachable lid has a knob-lock system.
