london architectural and product design studio shiro studio has created the ‘nivis’ wash basin for agape. based on the properties of snow and named after the latin word for it, the form replicates its unblemished whiteness and its geometrical behavior when covering surfaces. the soft white, solid mass is gently recessed to create the main basin while the proportional secondary basin rests just off to the side acting as a soap holder. by rotating and translating the overflow drain on the horizontal plane the sink’s surface becomes a soft, continuous plane where water can seamlessly flow towards the overflow inlet.

made from cristalplant and measuring 60x45x16cm, the wash basin is on show at milan design week 2011.
