italian studio sinestesìa prides itself on creating products and services that surpass their functional properties. by providing a multi-sensory experience, founders ludovica vando and lorenzo appiani, hope to instill a fondness that reaches beyond superficial desire. the studio’s latest design, ‘giacinto’, is inclined much to the same effect.

the small speaker system comes as a DIY (do it yourself) kit that not only engages users directly, but greatly reduces production related logistics on sinestesìa. ‘giacinto’ is an open invitation to develop a deeper understanding of the tool and its properties, allowing patrons to listen in a more conscious, appreciative way.

inner technology is optimized to simplify assembly. included in each kit are: two recycled leather forms, one stereo amplifier, connection cables (USB and AUX), and two speaker units. small screws and bolts hold everything together. ‘giacinto’ is available in basic recycled leather, customizable laser-burnt textures, or in a three-color range of high-quality leather. in addition, the speaker frame and hardware can be had in brass or aluminum. ‘giacinto’ is currently seeking funding on kickstarter here.
