holographic furniture by six n. five takes scandinavian design into the future

barcelona-based design studio six n. five unveils an entirely new furniture concept combining exaggerated and unexpected shapes with holographic materials. coining the term ‘holo-scandinavian‘, the collection celebrates mid-century scandinavian design with clean lines and organic textures.

six n. five drew on the talents of brazillian industrial designer artur de menezes, who designed the furniture whilst interning at the studio. the collection comprises chairs, tables and couches all made from holographic materials that radiate an iridescent sheen beneath the soft lighting in which it is shot. 

unfortunately the collection isn’t available yet because it’s not actually real. like most of six n. five’s work the images are only conceptual, even if based on real life products. 

six n. five is a contemporary design studio specializing in still life visuals and videos with a clean and modern style that speaks to an aesthetic of the moment. they saw a gap in the market for offering specialized CGI services, rendering campaigns for big name’s like NIKE, RIMOWA, and samsung.

‘we noticed that in recent years we had a lot of commissions from brands related to objects, furniture and interiors‘, six n. five director ezequiel pini told designboom. ‘usually, our role is limited to the environment, solving the concept and/or set design where the products ‘live’. this year we wanted to go further, so in addition to the concept, art direction and set design, we designed the furniture itself – the star of the visual – and in this way, did the complete job.‘
