skrivo crafts pinto from non-reinforced concrete

Nodding to the past with a focus on modern craftsmanship, Milan-based design studio Skrivo has unveiled a collection of recyclable concrete tables for Italian furniture brand Miniforms. Inspired by the intricate marble and stone fragments that adorn the floors of Venetian palaces, Pinto poses a monolithic, contemporary collection of coffee tables. The mono-material tables exude an organic and sculptural allure alongside structural strength, with asymmetrical surfaces adorned with speckled textures that offer a dynamic interplay of perspectives. Available in two sizes, and three colors, each variation is playfully named after different flavors of Italian ice cream: Stracciatella, Anice, and Nocciola.

fusing historic design elements with modern craftsmanship

Crafted from a specialized, fully recyclable, and reusable concrete, Pinto is devoid of any chemical or metallic impurities. This mineral compound ensures durability and versatility, capable of withstanding all manner of weather conditions and rendering it an ideal choice for both indoor and outdoor settings outdoor settings. Dedicated to minimizing material usage, Skrivo challenges the traditional weight associated with concrete to craft a series of organically curving tables. Utilizing non-reinforced concrete, Skrivo delves into the intricacies of precise compound compositions and mold processes. The design team’s creative exploration culminates in two harmonious, primitive-shaped tables with strikingly slender 18mm thick profiles despite their concrete forms.
