milan-based studio quinzii terna architecture (QTA) takes a chance to share their new furniture collection and the production process at milan design week. titled ‘small tables and light on a rock’, the series comprises four coffee tables, a bench, and a floor lamp made of sophisticated steel structures and roughly cut stone.

with the fine metal lines, architects sought to rethink the furniture design by restructuring the typical shape of objects. small tables and light on a rock are simple objects that will never be identical — with the process repeating every time QTA produce a piece, the result is always unique.

QTA proposes a reflection on the production process of furniture when a unique and artisanal product becomes an element to be mass produced and always identically shaped. the series illustrates the team’s exploration of the possibility to propose unique objects by standardizing only the process and integrating this concept to the ecological idea of upcycling old and unwanted.
