the arclight pedals is a kit of smart LED bike pedals that are activated with the natural motion of a cyclist. redshift sports’ aim was to increase the visibility of a cyclist’s presence, capturing the attention of other drivers. the set includes durable aluminum platform pedals with four rechargeable and removable light modules — that have built-in smart features and customizable flash modes — enhancing cyclist’s clarity by more than 50% compared to regular bike taillights.all images courtesy of redshift sports

arclight bike pedals take advantage of the natural movement of a cyclist and create a visible presence. as the arclights are noticeable from all angles, the appearance of the cyclist stands out, providing a clear signal to the motorcycles.

the designers sought to replace the regular bike lights that are fixed to the seat post and handlebar, with this smart kit that can fit on any bike and is activated day and night. arclight pedals, not only ensure a stimulus to drivers and pedestrians but increase visibility by up to 57% compared to conventional bicycle taillights.

smart and easy functionality 

the arclight modules include auto-on/off functionality where the lights automatically turn on when the cyclist starts riding, and off when parks the bike. moreover, the pedals can determine the orientation and set the forward-facing light to white and the rear-facing light to red.
