two long treatment rooms run along the side corridor
japan-based curiosity has just completed a spa boutique called ‘mars the salon’ in aoyama, japan,
located next to the nezu museum garden. the salon’s interior is based on a rhythm of vertical light
and shadow strokes which create a linear visual pattern throughout the space.
these vertical forms are inspired by ‘torii’, which are gates leading into a shrine which marks the
division between the physical and mental worlds.

powder rooms are located inside each treatment room
the entrance of the spa includes a shop, where the vertical elements suspended from the ceiling, house displays
inside of the shop with custom made sofa which accommodates multiple guests
the entrance’s corridor which is lined with vertical lighting
consultation area at the end of the corridor
