Rooted in the Quantum Theory of Light, the art piece captures photons, the minute particles that make up light itself, through transparent, sparkling quartz crystals. Each of those tiny crystals reflects light onto different moving surfaces creating the vibrant interaction between light and shadow on the surface of the bag.

Equal parts symbol and legend, the Lady Dior made its début on Lady Diana’s arm, launching from there into its extraordinary destiny. An architectural homage to the House’s excellence, this iconic cannage creation reinvents itself through collections in a multitude of colors, sizes, techniques, and ever-exceptional materials. Season after season, Lady Dior rewrites its history at the crossroads of modernity and excellence, becoming, more than ever, an object of art and desire, revisited by creatives around the world. Lady Dior’s continual reinvention is further written with a sculptural aspect. Quartz, chosen for its intrinsic healing properties and revered status in feng shui philosophy, serves as the cornerstone of this creation. Beyond its durability, quartz embodies the energies of the universe, fostering tranquility and clarity of thought. Its visual likeness to clouds further enhances its allure, allowing light to pass through and reflecting the ever-changing environment.

Clouds, steeped in cultural significance and symbolic resonance, serve as a poignant motif in this piece. Nguyen’s intention with Lady Cloud piece is to evoke a sense of wonder and contemplation in the viewer. By infusing the artwork with elements of hope and warmth, she invites viewers to explore their own imaginative narratives while embracing themes of liberty, love, and healing. ‘I want to make a sculpture of a reimagined Lady Dior bag, one that is durable, transparent, poetic and one that can project a pure energy of compassion,’ explains the artist. ‘I want to juxtapose the sturdiness of stone and the airiness of clouds to challenge the viewers’ imagination.’
