designer hanna krüger explores the dynamic between public and private, past and future in her experimental project, ‘[collective] collection’. the objects are rearrangements and combinations of pre-existing products. employing methods of fragmentation and re-contextualization, krüger introduces products that are simultaneously original and familiar.

‘RGB’, individual plates dissolve into a collective whole

the series addresses issues of adaptation, collectivism, and the constant continuation of artifacts and philosophies that have come before.  digital files from vienna’s MAK –austrian museum of applied arts — were taken and reinterpreted by krüger. use of the freely accessible store of knowledge becomes a dialogue on the infrastructure of design, and questions whether the past is merely another tool at creatives’ disposal. ‘[collective] collection’ was displayed at ventura lambrate during milan design week 2015
