italian designer luca nichetto will present ‘sucabaruca’, a coffee set for canadian brand mjölk during IDS 2014 in toronto that aims to combine the modern ritual of filtered coffee between north america and scandinavia with the renowned tradition of italy where coffee has been a cult drink for centuries. the collection of ceramic-ware features a cone-shaped body reminiscent of  ‘carmencita’, a famous italian character created by armando testa in 1966 for the television show ‘carosello’.

update 03/31: the sucabaruca coffee set by luca nichetto for mjölk is presented during milan design week 2014.

the patterns are hand-etched by hand into the ceramic, emphasizing the uniqueness of the pieces, as well as for the tray. just like in a game, the elements within the coffee set can be stacked and combined as desired, indulging in the different personalities offered by three colour palettes; from totally white, to pastel tones and pop-colors.
