superwarmred designs is proud to offer limited-edition signed and unsigned 36″ by 45″ posters of the MTA new york city subway diagram, designed by massimo vignelli and veteran associates beatriz cifuentes and yoshiki waterhouse. printed in vivid pantone and hexachrome inks on acid-free archival cover-weight paper, the revised version reflects the current subway system, colors, and nomenclature. the work is slated to be made part of the permanent collection of the museum of modern art

in 2010, vignelli, cifuentes, and waterhouse updated their 2008 redesign of vignelli’s iconic 1972 subway map for digital use within the metropolitan transportation authority‘s weekender website and app. the new diagram was informed by satellite data and rebuilt for greater clarity and legibility.
