the wait is over, the results are in, and the swiss design awards 2018 winners have been announced. with 17 laureates this year, the competition recognizes and rewards highlight projects by swiss-born or based practitioners within the contemporary field of design. categories are separated into products and objects design, fashion and textile design, graphic design, photography, mediation, and scenography.

with the swiss design awards 2018 winners presented with their prize, as well as a reward of 25,000 swiss francs each, on june 12 in basel, the ceremony takes place in the presence of the president of the swiss confederation alain berset. the winners include: christophe guberan, simon husslein, adrien rovero, and laurin schaub all in products and objects category; rafael kouto xénia lucia laffely, and mikael vilchez / forbidden denimeries, all in fashion and textile design; harry bloch, studio harris blondman, céline ducrot, marietta eugster, and dan solbach in graphic design; zoé aubry, senta simond, and jean-vincent simonet in photography; and YET magazine (nicolas polli and salvatore vitale), and HAMMER (sereina rothenberger and david schatz) in mediation.

all the winning work will be on display in the swiss design awards 2018 exhibition, which runs alongside art basel and design miami/ basel. the showcase will also present the work of 33 participants out of 270 entries in the second round of the competition, as selected by the jury of the federal design commission and experts. this aims to not only showcase swiss design but also highlight the creativity to an international audience.
