the design genius of charles and ray eames

the legendary design team charles and ray eames made films, houses and classic midcentury modern furniture. eames demetrios, their grandson, recently showed rarely seen films and archival footage in a lively, loving tribute to their creative process.

eames spends his time ensuring that the eames designs are done right communicating and preserving the eames work. the design process itself is a passion of his and he has given many lectures around the world including TED talks which focus on bringing together people from technology, entertainment and design.

on our recent trip to LA designboom had the chance to visit the famous pacific palisades residence of charles and ray eames.

eames demetrios is chairman of the eames foundation that focuses on the preservation of the eames house. aside from that he is also a filmmaker producing mostly shorts and documentaries.
