Watch with floating numbers by the trio of time and hey studio

The Trio of Time by Anicorn Watches collaborates with Hey Studio for a watch that has floating numbers inside its oil-injected display. Named Time for Fun, the numbers 1, 7, 8, and 3 in bold formats swim around the display nonstop as the wearer moves. There are no hours, minutes, or seconds indicating the time. The watch by The Trio of Time and Hey Studio is purely instinctive. It tells the wearer what time it is based on the direction of the thick timepiece hands sharing the space with the floating numbers.

The hand marking the hours shares the same color with one number. It adds zest to the design, especially since the background of the display is white and the timepiece’s case is black. For the watch series, the design team adopts the primary colors: red, blue, and yellow. They’re all vibrant from the get-go. To make them even more visible, the straps of the accessory have a stripe design in primary colors. In this way, The Trio of Time and Hey Studio say that their watch captures the ‘essence of playful days when even the simplest games could bring endless joy.’

‘Time for fun’ timepiece shows a playful display

The stripe design of the watch bands extends to the rear of the accessory. Here, the surface plate of the timepiece reveals the names of The Trio of Time and Hey Studio, engraved to seal their collaboration. The brand and Barcelona-based creative studio say that they design the watch to remind wearers of spontaneity as they check the time. When they look at the watch, they don’t immediately pinpoint the correct hour and minutes.

Instead, it takes them a second to know what time it is, playfully distracted by the floating numbers. Joe Kwan, the creative director of The Trio of Time, captures this feeling when he says that ‘Timekeeping doesn’t have to be rigid. With Time For Fun, we bring a lighthearted approach to wearing time. It’s a watch that doesn’t just tell time—it plays with it.’ The Time for Fun watch by The Trio of Time and Hey Studio is set for a March 4th, 2025 release.
