the thai international furniture fair 2012 will take place in bangkok from march 14th through 18th

larger than ever with 30,000 square meters of exhibition space, the thailand international furniture fair (TIFF) 2012 will bring over 220 companies and designers to bangkok’s international trade and exhibition center in mid-march. this year’s exhibition was organized under the concept of ‘fill green, feel good’, offering opportunities for furniture producers and exporters from thailand and its neighboring countries to showcase their products and create business collaborations.

the works on display range from bedroom and dining room furniture to rattan and outdoor pieces, to office furnishings, flooring, lighting, and home decor. the exhibition also includes three themed pavilions: ‘t-style in thailand’, devoted to furniture design within the country; the fair’s fourth annual installation of ‘waste to wealth’ promoting sustainable design and upcycling practices; and the fourth annual ‘design camp’, which pairs university students with practicing furniture designers and production companies.

this year, ‘t-style in thailand’ adopts the theme of ‘ecological and elegant’. the project represents the collaboration of japanese designer toshiyuki kita and thailand’s department of export promotion in the ministry of commerce. ‘waste to wealth’ is spearheaded by thai waste material designer dr. singha intarachuto.
