austrian crystal company swarovski presents ‘lake of shimmer’ – avant time no. 3, a timepiece designed by tokujin yoshioka. the formal details and appearance of the time teller draw on the facade of the installation the japanese designer developed for the luxury brand’s 2009 baselworld stand which consisted of thousands of reflective octagonal elements cascading down the wall of the space. with this re-interpretation, tokujin has scaled-down his original concept, repeating the mirrored parts instead to form the bracelet band of this watch design. the mirrored face appears as if it is reflecting the sun off the surface of a lake, emitting a strong brilliance and luminosity to the wearer.
