tokujin yoshioka continues his formal explorations of prisms and and faceted surfaces in his 2013 collection of furniture for kartell. the japanese designer’s ‘sparkle’ stools and side tables are made from polycarbonate which appears to have the texture and cut of crystal glass. the pieces are defined by a distinctive twist, which offers visual interest, while also further enhancing the refraction of light between their surfaces and the surrounding environment in which they are placed. the glassy pedastels debut at the 2013 salone del mobile.
