at salone del mobile during milan design week 2012, italian furniture manufacturer kartell presents the new additions  of ‘the invisibles light’ collection by japanese designer tokujin yoshioka. the transparent pieces have been redeveloped, keeping the same form and materiality, but with an added solidity achieved by the opacity of the acrylic. the series still focuses on the modern aesthetic, allowing them to blend into their surroundings much like the transparent version, yet their interaction with the light gives a different quality overall. see designboom’s previous coverage of tokujin yoshioka’s ‘the invisibles’ collection.
