top 20 winners of the A' design award and competition

every year, the A’ design award and competition aims to showcase, share and inspire good design, creators and companies. it is an award dedicated to architects, designers and innovators who desire to gain worldwide recognition, publication for their projects, and a whole list of other prizes. however, only the very best work – whether conceptual or realized – is awarded the renowned prize. over its history 35,263 projects have been submitted to the competition with 10,051 winning awards. below, designboom highlights just 20 of our all-time favorite design and architecture-winning works. and, as a reminder, the winners of the 2020 award will be announced on april 15, 2020, on designboom!

annually, the A’ design award and competition calls for architects, designers and innovators to submit their best work. this can be entered into over 100 different categories, including architecture, building and structure design; interior space and exhibition design; lighting products and projects design; furniture, decorative items and homeware design; vehicle, mobility and transportation design; home appliance design; and packaging design. this allows creatives to select the most relevant category for their projects and also helps entries be clearly evaluated by the international jury panel, which comprises of prominent scholars, professionals and media members.

as recognition of excellence, winning an A’ design award is highly sought after. as well as featuring on designboom, laureates are awarded a trophy and an extensive winner pack, which includes displaying in an exhibition, being published in the yearbook, addition to the world design rankings, and being invited to the gala-night. furthermore, the selected winners will also recieve an extensive PR campaign, feedback from the judges, inclusion in other magazines and blogs, a winner certificate, and exclusive interview opportunities.
