chinese design studio uchida shanghai has created a small series of bamboo furniture designed for the home. led by tatsuhiro omori and mitsuhiro shoji, the practice is deeply rooted within the area, and source all materials as locally as possible. the collection includes two chairs, a low side table, a partition wall, and display case, all made of 19mm (.74”) bamboo. uchida shanghai hopes to challenge bamboo-based design, and provide users with objects that are both modern and nostalgic.
