NOOM & CUUB commemorate Russian invasion of Ukraine

Ukrainian design brand NOOM and creative content studio CUUB join forces to commemorate the second anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion by highlighting Ukraine’s diverse cultural landscape. Through this collaboration, the teams aim to present a new perspective on Ukraine, emphasizing its rich architectural heritage, vibrant contemporary design, and technological advancements amidst the ongoing war. The result of their partnership emerges as a series of artistic visualizations showcasing Ukraine’s brutalist and modernist architecture created by CUUB, complemented by renderings of furniture by NOOM, that ultimately serve as a beacon of hope, demonstrating that creativity endures even in the most challenging times.

illuminating ukraine’s cultural heritage in digital visualizations

Together, NOOM (find more here) and CUUB (find more here) spotlight Ukraine’s architectural diversity, showcasing traditional elements alongside innovative industrial design, and demonstrating resilience and creativity despite the challenges of war. The collaboration’s focal point lies in a collection of visualizations of five architectural marvels, serving a dual purpose: drawing attention to buildings of architectural significance at risk of disappearing due to neglect and Russian missile attacks, and emphasizing the importance of preserving modernist architectural heritage.

The comprehensive set comprises 15 digital images skillfully crafted by CUUB, spotlighting iconic landmarks such as the Oles Honchar Regional Universal Scientific Library, The Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, the Palace of Culture named after Serhiy Korolev, The Kryvyi Rih Metrotram, and the Fomin Botanical Garden. Set against these cultural backdrops, NOOM’s ‘fluffy’ chairs, sofas, stainless steel cabinets, and glass coffee tables seamlessly complement the architectural details, creating a blend of tradition and innovation.
