this umbrella shines bright thanks to its built-in led lights

Japanese company Mabu has recently introduced ‘Umbrella Lantern’, an ingenious design that keeps you dry and safe on your rainy night walks. The umbrella is equipped with built-in LED lights, illuminating brightly with just the push of a button. Unlike reflective umbrellas, this product does not require light from the surroundings in order to brighten up. Therefore, it can be used even on fully empty roads with no buildings or cars.

luminous, lightweight and practical

Umbrella lantern by Mabu (see more here) can be used as a regular umbrella in the morning, and can immediately light up once it starts getting dark. Once the user presses the button on the handle, the LED lights illuminate and transmit soft light right underneath the umbrella. The light can also transmit through the fabric, helping users stay visible during low light hours and improving general visibility in the area.

The umbrella is available in four color variations, including ‘Carmine,’ ‘Water,’ ‘Light gray,’ and ‘Midnight blue.’ Light transmission to the outside differs depending on the fabric color — light colors are easy to see through, and dark colors are less transparent. The size of the umbrella is about 102 cm in diameter and 82 cm in total length, weighing about 460 g. Since it is small and lightweight and it runs on 3 AAA batteries, the Umbrella Lantern is very practical and can be carried anywhere.
