within the garden of la triennale di milano, ferruccio laviani created an installation of seven colorful glass gazebos–blue, emerald and light green, fuchsia, orange, red, yellow–each one hosting an out-of-scale microworld, a whimsical environment teetering between reality and fiction.

drawing on lewis carroll’s ‘alice in wonderland’, three of the houses are furnished with pieces from the collection of outdoor contemporary furniture produced by unopiù, while the remaining four host a jungle of gigantic plants and flowers, several fantastic objects, animals and human figures,as well as anatomical tables, represented through large colorful and black and white drawings suspended from their ceilings. presented on the occasion of milan design week 2013, each contained paradise formed a chapter of laviani’s dreamlike outdoor universe connected by an elevated wooden pathway which suggested to visitors the way in which to navigate through the space. on a central platform dividing the distinct grouping of houses, there was an arrangement of the italian brand’s furniture–painted all in red–that seemed to be sinking, thus furthering elaborating on laviani’s fantasy universe.
