curated by pawel grobelny and agnieszka jacobson – cielecka the exhibition ‘unpolished – young design from poland’ presents the works of 16 polish designers and groups.

in poland there is limited access to modern materials and technologies. therefore designers use inexpensive, natural and easily available materials such as wood, OSB and MDF, felt or recycled materials. they mainly produce their work themselves or with the help of local craftsmen, normally only producing a limited number of copies. the majority of works on display are prototypes, copies or limited series.

the exhibition organised by the polish institute in brussels and the regional museum in stalowa wola (poland) is being held at pierre berge and associes as part of brussels design september 09. the show will be on view until october 2, 2009.
