valentin vodev: duckfins

like the wright brothers studied birds to perfect their flying designs, designer valentin vodev turned to ducks to design a better set of flippers. the design allows users to propel themselves faster in the water in addition to stable walking on land. it is light and compact and doesn’t restrict a user’s movement, like traditional fins. the rubber soles have a rippled design to allow the foot to grip surfaces and the upper portion is made from neoprene to grip the foot while remaining flexible. the aerodynamic design flows through the water, shifting current around it, just like the webbed feet of ducks.

  • This man found a great reason for photoshopping shoes onto a duck, and for that I salute him!

  • nice shape but does it really work

  • Nice styling, but nonsense function. People don’t swim like ducks, our legs don’t bend like ducks and our feet, even with big, clunky, cartoon duck shoes, don’t collapse on the forward stroke to reduce resistance, like ducks.

  • I would swim faster with my 11 size shoes

  • ahaha, cool!
