viktor & rolf have adorned their ‘yes’ cake with a ying-yang symbol, heart and overarching rainbow and is accessorized with their iconic wax seal and giant bow motifs — two recurring elements throughout their oeuvre. the gold rococo, serving as the base of the cake, is reminiscent of the parisian-influenced backdrop of their spring/summer 2015 runway show.

formafantasma channeled childhood memories to create a vibrantly colored cake, referencing the metaphysical paintings of italian artist giorgio de chirico. the desert comprises large wooden building blocks, which intend to illustrate a deserted town square on a summer day.

‘be careful, this fragment of ancient times. traveled from the past to the now just for your pleasure. from behind her veil she tempts you to eat her, but do you know what you’re going for? don’t be fooled by the sugary sweet jacket she’s wearing, she might be up to no good…advice: approach with care, and lick, don’t bite.‘ — martijn van strien on the design of ‘eat me’ cake.

each of the three tiers of floris wubben’s ‘pressed’ cake is made up of different chocolate flavors, not layered on top of each other, but actually concentric in design. each part of the sweet stands on its own, with a different set of colors, tastes, and aesthetic details.
