voltra lighting introduces portable, elegant hemera lamp

Voltra Lighting debuts its new portable lighting collection, Hemera, named after the Greek Goddess of daytime. The slim, nomadic and elegant design plays on its mythological inspiration. In reference to Ancient Greece, it features an interplay of a warm sun-like source together with veils shaded differently to depict day- and night-time.

Founded by Arnold Chan, who has over 35 years of experience in illuminating prestigious interiors, Voltra Lighting reveals designs that combine ingenious engineering with refined aesthetics. The luxury lighting brand specializes in enhancing the intimacy of spaces through portable lighting systems. Hemera, the new lighting collection, does so by referencing Ancient Greece and its mythology.

mythological-inspired lighting collection

The story goes that Hemera, the Goddess of daytime, would use her radiance each morning to disperse the darkness cast over Earth each evening. In Ancient Greece, the night and day were also considered to be two distinct substances from the sun. The Hemera lighting collection references this with an elegant two-veil shade design.

hand-formed day and night veils

With the sun at its center, warm light is diffused from the core of each lamp through two veils. The dark inner glass represents night whilst the outer represents day. Each shade is hand-formed from borosilicate glass, which is three times more solid than ordinary glass, and superior in optical clarity as well as light transmission. Three styles of shades are available: Megas (Long), Metrios (Medium) and Mikros (short).

With an IP65 rating, the lamp is resistant to water and dust damage

Each Voltra lamp is IP65 rated, protecting it from water and dust corrosion. Housed in its elegant stem and base finished in either natural brass, matte black or satin nickel, the unique Voltra-patented engine allows for dimmable, static and flickering modes. It boasts 35 hours of power as well as magnetic charging. The Horizon wireless charging system is designed to make charging individual or multiple lamps easier than ever. The Horizon Solo charges a single lamp whilst Horizon Ten uses has the capacity to replenish 10 engines at a time.
