developed through a handcrafted modification of the multipurpose ‘chassis’ chair, the new ‘tune chair’ and additional ‘tune table’ by stefan diez produced by wilkhahn for shellmann furniture, creates a harmonious meeting and working place. based on the ‘chassis’ chair’s industrially produced frames – which are made of extremely strong sheet steel using advanced deep-drawing and space-frame technology – the new pieces have been ‘tuned’ with easy to exchange seat shells. the product’s advancement features elegantly two-toned surfaces in blue, yellow, olive or black, and specially crafted textiles with a vegetable tanned leather cover. the welding process has been economically enhanced using robots, with high precision seams maintained; optional perforations in the material’s surface help the tuned design stand out.
