wooden phones

‘ziricote*’ by hulger

while designboom readers may remember the wooden hulger phone ‘ziricote’, there are many options when it comes to wooden mobiles. the ‘maple phone’ by hyun jin yoon and eun hak lee is one concept that integrates an led screen and glowing buttons into a completely wood case. another option is the hand modified wooden case by a russian craftsman or this ‘flintstones’ style phone discovered at a market in helsinki. while no wood mobile has made it to market (yet), these concepts and prototypes signify that some technology users crave something more than plastic. ‘maple phone’ by hyun jin yoon and eun hak lee
