norwegian firm permafrost has sent designboom images for one of 30 small ‘nordic dioramas’ created for the new nordic architecture and identity exhibition at the louisiana museum of modern art in copenhagen.

the simple wooden toys, accented with details, respond to the question posed by the curators – how has the nordic identity developed alongside the development of the rest of the world where there is a tendency of globalization to erase national and cultural differences?

consequently the pieces are a reflection on nordic identity, where the designers decided to depict modern day industrial icons, while simultaneously honouring traditional nordic craftsmanship through the wooden medium.
