worknic allows users to choose their own workspace

Worknic by Seokoo Yeo, Woojin Jang, and Dowan Kim, introduces a new work style that allows Generation Z workers to step away from their usual workspaces and enjoy an outdoor environment, much like a picnic. At the heart of the project is the Worknic Desk, a mobile, energy-providing desk that offers the essential infrastructure to set up a functional workspace anywhere outdoors. This mobility makes it easy for users to find fresh work spots, offering flexibility and refreshment throughout the workday. As we transition into an endemic phase, many companies encourage employees to return to the office. However, the autonomy and flexibility experienced during the pandemic have created a lasting demand for adaptable work options. Worknic meets this need by combining outdoor work with daily productivity without the burden of long-term planning.

the mobile desk responds to the needs of Gen Z workers

Worknic responds to the evolving needs of ‘refresh workers’—a growing segment of Generation Z workers expected to emerge by the 2030s. These individuals, shaped by the flexibility of remote work during the pandemic, seek to boost productivity by changing their work environment. While options like Workation (the concept of combining work and leisure by working remotely while traveling) exist, the planning and time commitments often make them impractical. The portable desk addresses this gap, offering a more accessible alternative that allows users to refresh their surroundings on a daily basis. Οrganized by Samsung Design Membership and sponsored by Samsung Electronics, Worknic reimagines the future of work.
