world design rankings 2018 announced!

at the start of each year, the world design rankings (WDR) reveal the countries with the most designers who have won A’ design award. it aims to not only highlight further insight into the design industry but also to help foster a global design culture by showcasing and supporting good design. once again, the USA tops the updated table in 2018 with 48 platinum design awards won. they are followed by china, japan, italy, great britain, hong kong, turkey, taiwan, portugal and australia. the top 10 remains very similar to the 2017, but three new countries – botswana, bahrain and costa rica – have now joined the list overall.

 

to be in with a chance of receiving an internationally recognized award and adding to your country’s prestige, register and submit your work to the 2019 A’ design award and competition now.

the world design rankings list countries by the amount of platinum awards won at the A’ design award and competition.  gold follows next, then silver, bronze and, finally, iron to determine standings. the list also includes a ‘design business insights’ section, which ranks nations based on their success in specific yet diverse categories. this enables industry members to understand ‘design strengths’ such as finding out which country is best for furniture, architecture, lighting and more.
