closed-loop ‘36.5°C SERIES’ engulfs sitters in a warm embrace

Inspired by the body temperature of thermostatic animals, the 36.5°C SERIES by X-ZOO fuses sculpture with functionality to present a series of uplifting chairs. Named after the human body’s most desirable temperature, the collectible pieces capture the essence of a cozy embrace through their elastic cantilevering mechanism, soft furry touch, and vibrant desert hues. As they inject a warm ambience and the familiarity of fond memories into the home, the 36.5°C SERIES reimagines the definition of a chair with closed-loop structures that twist and turn to offer comfort, playfulness, and functionality in every position.

x-zoo reimagines the definition of a chair

Diverging from conventional design concepts with contorted forms to elevate the most ordinary moments of life, furniture design studio X-ZOO has created the 36.5°C collection with an inventive design that combines qualities of durability, comfort, and creativity. Available in three size models — Small, Medium, and Large — the series invites users to indulge in its embrace and interact and play with it — like a ‘trusted companion.’

Sculpted with an other-worldly wave-like form, the Small model is conceived to be cuddled and played with in any direction. Each chair’s hand-stitched fleece fur is infused with individual characteristics that make one distinct from the other. The versatile Medium model is finished with healing colors and an embracing form, designed to be flipped and used on either side for various scenarios. These effects are achieved with advanced one-step metal forging technology, allowing the sculpture-like cantilever structure to push the traditional materiality to its limits and create a hug-like comfort.
