another clever design by japanese design studio YOY has been presented at salone satellite during milan design week 2014. constructed out of aluminum and plastic, ‘light’ – the LED table and a floor lamp series, eliminates the light fixture to resemble a light socket. when turned on, the luminaire casts light to recreate a projection of a lamp shade silhouette. when switched off, the simple unit is an unassuming, freestanding beam.
